In order to define the real behavior of bulk materials before to start with process design and the selection of the designe parameters when these are not officially defined by the Clients specification, IES can provide some test carried out in its own laboratory or in external laboratories.
Important properties measured include cohesive strength, internal friction (particle-to-particle), wall friction (particle-to-wall), and compressibility (bulk density as a function of pressure). Flow properties test results are useful for:
- Product development and characterization
- Quality control
- Troubleshooting of arching, ratholing, or processing problems
- Determination of critical mass flowhopper design parameters
